Farewell Spit around

I just had done the Heaphy Track, one of NZ's Great Walk, over 80km/4days/3nights. And now at Karamea, top of Weastcoast. I walked track with a German girl Nicole whom I met at Motueka. She is a working holiday maker, too. We also met on Abel Tasman Coast Track. I had done Abel Tasman Coast Track in Sep15-17(3days/2nights), from Awaroa to Marahau. Heaphy Track was really 'Great Walk'! 1st day was right forest walking in fine weather. 17km, climb up to 900m gently. In late afternoon it started raining. 2nd day we walk along the wet land surronding by mountains, about 800m highth. It was rainy 27km walk, but wet land (downs) and moss on rocks were still beautifull in rain. There were rivers which has color of tea. It contain tannin so it has tea color. 3rd day was down hill from 650m to 20m gently along the Heaphy River. Forest has changed to jungle. About 20km. 4th day was 16km coastal and jungle bush walk. It was so nice walk! And I took too much photos, I think.

Did Abel Tasman Coast Track by myself. 1st day started from Motueka. Departed Kaiteriteri by water taxi and started walking from Awaroa Bay. On the water taxi, we met about 15 dolphins and seals around Tonga Island Marine Reserve. Coastal and bush walking to Bark Bay Hut. There was near 20 people in hut. 2nd day, AM was fine but 1100 it started raining. 1500 rain was stopped and getting fine. Stay at Ankarage Hut with other 8 people. 3rd day was very fine. Good view of beaches and side down trip to beaches to Marahau.
